Half-Day Whales & Wildlife Tour
Our most popular tour, our half-day (4 hour) small group wildlife and whale watching tours depart from downtown Friday Harbor, next to the ferry landing. These tours accommodate no more than 16 guests on each excursion.
About the Tour
The amount of time on the water, combined with our departure location in the center of the Salish Sea, the speed and range of our vessels and the expertise of our crew offer the best chance of finding whales as we explore the dynamic ecosystem around us.
The more time we spend on the water the more we will see, and a half-day gives us extra flexibility and geographic range to experience a wider variety of wildlife. We will explore pristine habitats as we search for a variety of wildlife, including different species of whales that may be in the area on any given day.
You will be part of a small group of passengers for the most intimate experience possible. There’s plenty of elbow room and no competition for prime viewing space.

Departure Location
These tours depart from downtown Friday Harbor, next to the ferry landing, offering a convenient departure location for day visitors to the island and overnight guests.
Please plan to check-in 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Your tour will be onboard one of the newest and most comfortable vessels from San Juan Island. You’ll enjoy luxury seating and a cabin for comfort in all conditions. There is excellent viewing from the outdoor bow and stern viewing decks, as well as unparalleled indoor visibility through the large cabin windows.
You are never seat-bound, and can move freely between the cabin and all viewing areas. Our boats also have a head, or marine bathroom, for your convenience.
