Snug Harbor, San Juan Island

Our tours depart from Snug Harbor Resort, near the end of Mitchell Bay Road on the west side of San Juan Island. Being slightly north of Lime Kiln State Park, commonly known as Whale Watch Park, makes Snug Harbor the ideal location to begin your adventure.

Driving Directions from the Friday Harbor Ferry to Snug Harbor Tours

  1. Follow cars off of ferry to the right where you will continue left on Spring St.
  2. Turn right on Second St. Go straight at 4 Way Stop (Guard St.).
  3. Go straight through 3 way Stop. Guard St. will become Beaverton Valley Road.
  4. Continue for approximately 8 miles until you come to Mitchell Bay Road.
  5. Turn Left on Mitchell Bay Rd. You will come to a metal+wood sign saying Snug Harbor and Whale Watch Tours. Stay to the right of the sign and continue down Mitchell Bay Rd. We’re at the bottom of the hill.
  6. Park in UPPER LOT, marked “Marina & Guest Parking.”

Directions to Friday Harbor Marina Tours

Whale watching tours leaving from Friday Harbor will meet at the Maya’s Legacy Whale Watching office in downtown Friday Harbor. Our office is located at #14 Cannery Landing. If you are facing the ferry dock from the street above, Cannery Landing is to your right. Our office is on the lower level, between San Juan Coffee Company and Dockside Treasures.
